So he was partying too hard and that was holding him back?
It probably hasn't helped, whether or not anyone thought he was poor before hand hasn't helped himself, which he has acknowledged. Though his mum dying didn't help.

You'd think the club would have a " welfare officer " or something similar ?. Even if it was just a volunteer within the club for a player to talk to in confidence if they were having a bit of a rough time ?.

I remember Tommy Grav saying that he got very lonely when he first signed, which seemed to be bourne out by the fact that he used to get spotted all over town during the day by himself .

Isn't Joe supposed to be keeping an eye on the lads while they're away on loan as well?
