Sad that. Terrible to think of anybody going through that. I hope he gets the help he needs and has a long and successful career ahead of him.

I agree mate, it seems amazing that in light of the many high profile and well documented cases of footballers suffering from depression etc that a young footballer can seemingly be allowed to become so isolated. Even from a mercenary point of view you'd think they'd want to look after an expensive " asset ".

The way his very vague job description reads is that he's is a " fixer " rather than someone who is designated to look after the welfare of the young lads .

Exactly
Bill is the man charged with looking after the players off the field.

He helps new signings settle in when they first arrive and sorts out the various requirements they tend to have.

This can range from finding players somewhere to live, sorting transport, recommending local schools and much more.

You can help only those who accept it. Hes probably been quiet & no one's noticed neither.

I have wondered what happened to this fella. I really hope he turns a corner and makes a real go of it. Should do it for his ma.

Separately - my sympathy with these wayward young footballers is tempered by the fact that I see kids at school, without footballing ability, or academic ability who lose mothers or family, sadly too often, and end up with every disadvantage going. Some go down the plughole, some develop immensely strong characters from it and succeed. None of those have unbelievable wealth or the promise of a colossal salary to motivate them. I think it's sadder when this kind of situation happens to those with no hope, and no promise of a job from the start.

We should start following him on twitter and bombarding him with "love" (i.e. nice messages etc.) - to make him feel better!

I remember him against Leeds and he was really bad.
I don't think he is using his problems to cover the fact he isn't or won't make it. It's a real fact he is admitting problems with whatever vices he has I reckon.
