It's a very difficult call for a manager,if he doesn't give youngsters a chance, they will never be ready for the first team, but when he does and we lose he gets slaughtered.
The Barkley situation is the same, people want him in the team, but will turn on the manager if we lose,as happened against Q.P.R at the start of last season.
Loaning young players to teams in a lower division is the compromise that suits best.
Well Junior played instead of Neville the other night and look where that got us.
Ten minute cameos is not the same as a chance. Vellios started one game of the seven we're talking about and that's the one we won and then no starts since. He was also our top scorer at the time despite having only the one start. The question is once he'd been given that chance (and Moyes is excellent at handing out debuts to young players) and then played well why haven't those good performances been rewarded with more starts.
Barkley starts two league games in which he's our best midfielder then doesn't get another league start all season. Duffy barely puts a foot wrong in his two league starts and hasn't started a game since. He gives them a bit of a chance but no more.

i think lunstrum has more about him to be fair .. he could sneek under the radar and even do better then barkley
I would wait for at least one senior appearance before saying stuff like that, like. Though I agree that young CMs have a better chance of getting games than young players in any other position because it's our weak area and Moyes clearly knows it judging by the players he's been after.

You mocked me for saying we needed another CM in the transfer window![]()

Just remembered what this was about and you said it was our weakest position before we sold Rodwell and bought Pienaar and Mirallas. The fact that three transfers later you turned out to be right is a lot like using WW2 to justify the Treaty of Versailles.
