I think you need to break that down into seasons, think it will reflect poorly on King then.
There's quite clearly a massive gulf in quality between them. And you know that I rate King.
If we could get him in on a two-year deal he could be a versatile option for us.
As I said in the summer, like, I didn't want us to get rid of Kean and bring in King but right now if King could come in and score 5-6 goals for us that'd be a big boost.
However, would that just be a soak up on wages which could be put towards a real quality player - a Bailey or the like?
Aren't like 15 of those goals from penalties?Zaha: 230 PL apps / 44 goals / 41 assists
King: 161 PL apps / 48 goals / 15 assists
One's apparently the world's best player, one is apparently not even worth bringing in as forward cover![]()
It really, really doesn't. Moreover shows how overrated Zaha is.

Have we got the money to sign a Bailey in January? I don't think we do.

I've shared his stats too many times now to be bothered to go in to why he isn't very good.
We need better.
Vardy has consistently scored 20 goals in the league for years, of course I'd have him.10 penalty goals to Zaha's 2.
Not that it really matters. Vardy scores a load of pens and you'd still have him here.

King hasn't. We need better than him, even as a back up we need better.
He has also had covid and has struggled to get back from it, as evidenced by the fact that since the 7th November, he has played 40 minutes. Be a huge risk to sign him now and actually spend money to do so, not knowing the longer term impacts it may be having on him.
Agree. He is not an ideal signing if we subtract all the conditions that work against us. But this world does not exist. Of the players available on the market that meet the criteria we need, King meets most of these criteria. Can totally understand people not wanting King but can't really understand people peddling the idea that it would be some sort of horrific deal or completely laughable. He's an international with plenty of PL experience and a half decent scoring record, who could offer cover in a couple of positions and probably wouldn't object to just being used as a rotation option. It's certainly not the dream signing and I'd probably swerve him myself to be honest, but I think we need to get over ourselves a little bit. We're not too good for him.
Unless we sell Kean (or guarantee the sale for the summer), and manage to shift Tosun, Bernard etc, then probably not.Have we got the money to sign a Bailey in January? I don't think we do.
