Interesting when we talk about wages, Claptain Fantastic and Mark Travers between them are taking roughly £80k a week out of the football club that we’ll see no on field return for whatsoever, and people’s problem is with paying that to a midfielder that plays games and improves on our current options in that position. Interesting to ponder.

It never fails to give me a giggle when a name of a player we are reportedly going for comes up and there is the usual cry of “not good enough “. I would ask those who raise that cry to look at where we have been over the last number of years and to look at the performance we put up last week. I dream of Everton buying £100 million players and having a squad of world beaters but it is not realistic. Am I excited by some of the players we are now going to bring in, no not really but I do recognise that the squad we have isn’t anything but in and around 14th place in the Premier League. We need to get ourselves into the top half and secure our future as a solid Premier League team, we need a playing style that will attract better players, we have the ground now we need to build up a squad the appeals to better players. New players don’t need to be world beaters to improve us.

But isn't it a defensive mid we need more than an attacking one, least that's what Moyes is saying, we have KDH, N'Diaye, Grealish, McNeil, and Alcaraz, to be attacking in midfield.

You don’t sign 29 year old championship players and expect them to make to improve the quality of the team.
Signing this quality of player is more likely to ensure we continue to look down rather than up.
This isnt a young prospect we are discussing , it’s a crushingly average Manc reject .
