Jose Mourinho

We need a Mourinho, but he is obviously a cheque book manager. Would have been the perfect fit when moshiri firm came. Sadly we spunked all our money and crown jewels up the wall. Highly doubt we will be spending what we have been spending the last few years.

Totally different style again...

Moyes -- Martinez -- Koeman -- Allardyce -- Silva

Each appointment needing a total shift in tactics and players.

Love Jose but we should be after a manager who can use Silvas players.

We could play a 3 with Holgate or Gmblammo in defence.

Or any 3 of Gomes, Gmblammo, Delph, Davies, or Viking in midfield.

Its not Brazil 1970, but its a joke to say we only have the players for 4231.

I didnt say we only have players for 4231.

What I said, or intended to say is that;

A -- Each managerial appointment has a totally different style than the last. So the players are all going to need to either adapt or be changed...it makes more sense to hire someone who can use the players we have.

B -- Only Mina (and at a stretch Keane) is the centre back on the books who can be considered above average. In centre midfield we have the wildly inconsistent Gomes and the relatively untried Gbamin.

Im not sure what manager could do better with Delph, Schneiderlin, Davies as the alternate centre midfield options.

C -- Jose is awesome, however he would be in a hotel room for how long? Every side hes left has been worse for it...but is that because hes amazing or because he let them go stale.

What we need, whether its Jose, Gallardo, Silva or whoever else is far superior players in key positions.

With Jose he always brings in a new spine to a team -- thats one major plus as we do need a CB / CM / CF. However, surely this should be Brands job in Jan + summer to add these players to the squad.

For me, with the focus being on South Americans (it seems) as well as players not getting games in the top sides we should be looking at a South American coach who can integrate the players together and conjure up a new style of play using the squad we have now and adding in some potential superstars currently off the radar.

That man is Marcelo Gallardo.

October 23rd is the final of the copa libertadores and we should hold onto Silva until then (at least) and then make our move.

Moyes joined us in 2002 and since then every single manager has played 4231.

Sure some managers have different tactics and styles, but the formation hasnt changed.

You say we need superior players, doesnt every team in the league?

Anyway, we wont be getting Jose or Lambo Gallardo.

What formation in the centre is possible with Schneiderlin, Delph, Davies as the options?

With another centre mid e.g Doucoure we could have gone 433.

I dont see how another manager can magically change things unless Gomes/Gbamin are fit.

Yeah, ive offered the loss of Gomes and Gmbalmmos injuries in mitigation for Silva, it still doesnt defend sitting 18th.

Gomes should be fit after the International break, Gmblammo also possibly, Silva wont be going anywhere till after West Ham at the earliest, so Gomes and Gmblammo would be available to a new manager.

Need to give Silva 3 games with those players available in the centre.

Sadly it seems that alot of fans didnt like him from the start and that theyre not seeing the mitigating factors.

Having a Sigurdsson / Schneiderlin / Delph trio in midfield is the key problem imo...we cant play through the middle with those paper players.

Like i said though, if Gallardo is gettable id be all ovet it.
