If anyone is willing to pay similar money for him as we did, we absolutely should sell him. If his supporters say variables of ‘i know hes not great’, he is obviously not great. I know some are extra attached to him because of Englands performances in the cups, but thats irrelevant to Everton. For us, he is mediocre. Some great games, some terrible, some okay. The definition of average. 25m for any average player is something we need to jump on as our financals are terrible and he is far from the best keeper you can get for that kind of money.

We won't get anything like what we paid for him. It is a buyer's market for any club buying a player from Everton due to the fact that they all know the financial mess we're in and they will have to match the stupid wages that we pay. If we stay up, we should keep Pickford, as we won't be getting anyone better to replace him for the wages we can afford to pay them. If we go down, we will be able to sell him and indeed we will have to sell him, and, as I said, he will be one of our more saleable assets,even if we have to take a loss.

Who are these ‘real keepers’? Genuine question

Ederson - seems to get beaten by every single chance the opposition ever get against City

Alisson - terrible with his feet, has given goals away in big games through his poor distribution and has a weakness with the shot across the goal

Loris - even more erratic than Pickford

De Gea - wildly inconsistent, has always been weak on the near post

Schmeichal - weak on the near post and under his body

Ramsdale - pretty much terrible at everything apart from the odd save for the cameras


They’re the best keepers in the premier league so who exactly are these ‘real keepers’ that are going to turn up and not make any errors, claim high balls, have great distribution, great shot stopper, great at one on ones, and are always consistent?

They don’t exist. You laser in on Pickford’s failings though and ignore the errors that top keepers are making almost every week.

This is just pure opinion not based on form though. I mean Areola can’t even get a game for West Ham. Dubravka was being kept out the team by Karl Darlow earlier this season. I could go through all of them and pick bigger holes on their consistency than someone could say about Pickford this season why you’ll just repeat the line that you’ll think they’ll save more shots, based on what? Like I said Ederson seems to concede from every shot City give up.

Pickford is in good form, and is a good keeper, you don’t do what he’s done for England at that highest level if you’re not. You just don’t like him.

My list is just one name, Gordon, and honestly if he never develops any quality it'll be zero names because everyone to a man hasn't been good enough but Gordon isn't meant to be near his peak yet.
