If Pickford had proven himself to be probably the best goalie in the world after performing at an outstanding level for multiple seasons like De Gea then he'd probably be given some leeway, but he hasn't done that... he's had a poor season and if he'd made that same mistake it would have been yet another clanger.
De Gea doesn't get slaughtered by his own fans because he's delivered time and time again for them, it's got nothing to do with United fans being more understanding.

If we signed De Gea ,he would get slaughtered by some on here just as Pickford does, it seems to be an Evertonian trait.

I dont believe this would be the case. De Gea is better than Pickford in every considerable way and is comfortably the 2nd best keeper in the world atm. People love a moan but we know quality when we see it.

Don't believe I've ever bashed him.He's an adequate keeper for a team in our position,if he and we can make the next step is very much open to question.All I've ever pointed out is that he has a couple of technical issues in his game that need attention,and that he isn't the keeper that the English press made him out to be during and after the World Cup.If you see him as the new Southall,that's your opinion.Last nights game in Barcelona showed that even keepers rated at the top of the tree all have a blunder in them,but the flaws that Pickford have seem to crop up regularly.hang on, that was the prime reason for bashing him last season, that he didn’t keep enough clean sheets. Whenever people pointed out that he had Williams and Martina in front of him it was just met with a shrug of the shoulders. You can’t have it both ways.
