It did happen though , he was the great white hope . Until that is he went on loan and couldn't get a game anywhere .

I'm not comparing them as players and I've been impressed with what little I've seen of kenny but like dowell I'm not convinced I know more than the manager on it .
I know mate your right I was only joking,I thought garbutt was going to be a player as well, agree about the other two as well.

Yep but he doesn't so I'm not sure how this is relevant!

Exactly the point I'm making....it is often true, not only in sport, that those who can't play/perform at the very highest level make better teachers than those who have been brilliant players/performers. Not mentioning any names of course.....;)

This is one of those cliches that get thrown about. Their are plenty of talented footballers who make very good managers, equally there are plenty of less talented footballers who become great managers. Different skill sets obviously required for the two.

As he been sent out on loan yet?
Yes, in the 2015/16 season. He went to Wigan in league 1 , did well but we pulled him back in the Dec/January period and he then went out to Oxford for the rest of their season in which they won promotion. He returned to us in the May and got his first PL minutes when he replaced Pennington in the last game of that season.
