His use of the ball in terms of retention is very good. Especially his one touch passes.

He seems to have that awareness of where his team mates are before he's received the ball, meaning he doesnt just hoof it.
Something Baines has done well this season is look for the pass rather than the cross in the box. He often cut it back to a player which is something Coleman should have done more. Kenny seems to have the same awareness which is a good sign. That is my main criticism of Coleman. He almost always floated it in when he should have hit the pass low.

Yes totally agree. Kenny seems to do it from a defensive position as well. Instead of just clearing the ball down the line he picks out a long low pass to feet.

My main criticism of him is the inability to use his feet to kick the ball accurately.

Massive pre season for Kenny.. would love to see Koeman come out and say he'll start - show proper faith in the kid

Why aren't we chasing a right back who's better than Coleman? What's the point adding to the squad if they aren't as good as what we have it's just a waste
Lovely sentiment, but there aren't many better.

Can't believe lids are criticising Coleman
One of our most consistent performers the last 4/5 seasons
United were after him a few times and he stayed loyal
Could teach a few on here a lesson or two
I've defended Coleman to the death. I can't have one criticism? He almost never lays it back in the box and tends to float it in. It is widely understood by everyone that has watched him play.

Agree, his crossing is atrocious
Well... It certainly doesn't help when you have Ross Barkley and to an extent Rom to head your crosses. Neither of them really attack the ball which is what you need for a floated cross. I think a player like Cahill would have a field day with them, but Coleman needs to do what Baines does and pass to the open man inside the box rather than float it every time. That or he needs to start driving his crosses a bit.

Holgate has been very solid there all year. We can bring Browning back as well. Whatever "it" is, Kenny has got it.
It's called talent, the right attitude, and determination mate.

The boy if given the chance will be the future rightback for the next ten years or more, even if Seamus comes back strong he's 29 in October and we need to have one eye on whose gonna eventually replace him.

Future Everton captain if you ask me.

I think the biggest question is we don't know if Seamus will even come back the same. That is why Kenny's development is vital.

Kenny has pedigree in doing so as he came up through the ranks.

At It he under 17s euros, only Roberts and Gomez looked close to him and since then his big potential flaws - height and being really light framed, both seem to have changed with age, he's deffo not too small or sleight now, and he just reminds me of a young Baines but better defensively.
