It appears that Kyle John is now training with the first team.
He seems to have always been highly rated from a young age and if management thought that he had the potential to be as good or better than Kenny then they might contemplate a sale, other than that I feel that JJK was sent out to serve an apprenticeship and will be back at Everton next season. The fact that he went on loan to a team of Schalke's stature is telling in my opinion.
On a similar note, I think that if Lewis Gibson is sent on loan again next season it will be to a higher level than division one.

A lot of players are sent out on loan to give them a chance to build a career elsewhere, a limited few are sent out with the intention of preparing them for the first team, Holgate at the moment is a classic example.

I like Kyle John, he plays far more as a modern fullback who can get forward. Against City though, he seemed to get badly exposed against their left winger.

I agree wholeheartedly with Lewis Gibson, I think he may be out to a European team, or with the first team squad.

John was playing with a 7 on his back in the Gomes game and Unsworth has played him midfield right of late so it’s difficult to ascertain which position Carlo seems him in . It’s hard to see him breaking into our squad as a midfielder/winger and he certainly looks better as an attacking full back ...... who has a lot of work to do to get to the required defensive level.

Holgate marked Sane away at City out of the game no need to loan him out Inoue always showed top potential, we did the same to you with Coleman at Blackpool. Osman at Derby ...,we are clueless sometimes........on loans not every Yong players need sending out .....but we do.....as the deadwood just sits there on top money - Carlos will end this madness.......imo.......

Most young players benefit massively from loans.

Whos to say Holgate, Coleman and Osman would have improved so much without the loan?

I mean Tom Davies for example, im not bashing him, but I think he would have come on a bit more if he was playing a full season out on loan somewhere in the last few years. JJK another 1 who hopefully will benefit from the game time. Not every player is a Rooney who can slot into the first team of a Premier League club as a teenager. Most of them need games to improve, to make the step up from yoot to mens footy.

The reason the deadwood sits there is cos nobody will buy them, in the meantime you send the players away and they either grow or they dont.

We got Sidney in and hes improved us loads, hes given hes a great attacking weapon on the right side, meanwhile Kenny is out in Germany either getting us some cash money when we sell him or improving loads so he can slot in next season, its win-win.

I hope JJK does come back and establish himself. People saying the Bundesliga is lower quality, than what exactly, is Schalke V Dortmund lower quality than Burnley v Norwich or West Ham v Villa or even us under any of our last managers v anyone, it's such a daft argument. There's teams in Germany that would do well here and some that wouldn't.
