Agreed mate - i'm one of Heitinga's biggest fans on here and the own goal was unfortunate. It was undoubtedly a bit sh*t and he won't be happy.

But to lay the blame (well start a thread) about just him is too harsh. There were about 12-13 other god awful players out there today.

Is the original poster going to start a thread about all of them too?

And if he had played Distin and Jags from the start people would be bleating about how wrong it was to drop JH after him having a decent game last week.

We MUST play Distin though, he's our best defender. Maybe he should try Heitinga and Distin together for a while, and give Jags a rest.

We moan about anything and everything.

End of the day, Moyes must look at the opposition and pick his players to combat them and get the upper-hand. United do it, Citeh do it, Chelsea do it.

Not saying we are like them, but the success rate is higher when those decisions are made.

Cant be scapegoating. He wasnt great but he wasnt awful. Both Jags and Heitinga were out muscled and out jumped by 2 mobile and powerful strikers. The OG was unlucky.

But all in all, Im guessing that the majority of fans are thinking that Lescott money was wastefully spent.

You know how I feel about him. Most of the time he can't be arsed and nearly as slow as Bily. Today was a howler for the OG same as the corner he gave up earlier with no one on him the kid has no peripheral vision what so ever. Moyes not putting him in the team earlier in the year speaks volumes. Moyes is hoping he will turn it around but he has not shown it yet. Distin at 30 is still light years ahead of him at CB in fact playing midfield he has shown something for us not at CB.
