what does stones owe us ? f all, he's not an everton fan and has no emotional attachment to the club, like every footballer his choice of which club he wants to play for should not be used as a stick to beat him with, we are all given that choice and can quit our current job for a better one when the chance arrives without getting harsley judged as a bad person, why can't he ?

It is not just a job it is a responsibilty and for the obscene amount of money they are paid they deserve any flack they get for not pulling their weight or handing in transfer requests in the same way they receive God like status for success/loyalty.

He pulled his weight just fine, he had an amazing first half of the season (just go back 9 or so months in this very thread for proof) which came directly after all the drama with Chelsea. He literally got on with it and started playing boss, i clearly remember him getting praised by countless pundits etc for his attitude and how he just got on with the job like a pro and didn't let it effect him.

You're not alone though, countless football fans from all clubs can't get their heads round the concept that footballers have as much right to decide which employee they work for as the next man in the street.

That's why I put imo.
I would leave Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern etc in a heartbeat to play for Everton. Every other club is just fodder.

Playing for England would just be a bit of fun too given the opportunity. Everton is all that matters in football when it comes to the game.

I know mate. I respect your opinion, but unfortunately a large percentage of players don't share that opinion. It's a shame really.

and no, I can't agree that just because somebody gets paid x amount they deserve stick if they hand in a transfer request (probably to try and force a move to a club where they will have more/a better chance of success and better wages, btw)...

Pep does with defences what no other manager dreams of in fairness. He played a three in such a way with Bayern that in fairness all of them could have been defenders or midfielders at any one time.

And yet the main difference being a highly visible tremendously well paid supporter driven employment.

Your reasoning is sound in the normal world but this is sport mate, with emotionally fuelled passion in excellence the motivator here.
