well aren't you precious
its his life, he can do what he wants... do you feel equally disappointed in your mates when they ask to leave their current jobs to take a new one with a more successful company who will pay them more ?
what does stones owe us ? f all, he's not an everton fan and has no emotional attachment to the club, like every footballer his choice of which club he wants to play for should not be used as a stick to beat him with, we are all given that choice and can quit our current job for a better one when the chance arrives without getting harsley judged as a bad person, why can't he ?
Precious?!
There are young kids who idolise footballers and are heartbroken when they leave.
It is not just a job it is a responsibilty and for the obscene amount of money they are paid they deserve any flack they get for not pulling their weight or handing in transfer requests in the same way they receive God like status for success/loyalty..
That's why I put imo.
I would leave Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern etc in a heartbeat to play for Everton. Every other club is just fodder.
Playing for England would just be a bit of fun too given the opportunity. Everton is all that matters in football when it comes to the game.![]()
Interestingly read Pep's comments on Stones. Seems he will be played as a mid link to the forwards rather than as a CB this strikes me as a sort of Beckenbaur role which is what I was saying how Stones should be played ages ago. But RM could not or would not see it. Our loss now TBH never mind the fee.

Surely you must realise this.
Funnily enough, we posed this question/subject back in May...

So he has to sacrifice his career for some children he's never met who supposedly worship him ? what kind of ridiculous argument is that for him staying. 'WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN' lol
So because you get paid well you deserve flack for wanting to move onto the next stage of your career ?
He pulled his weight just fine, he had an amazing first half of the season (just go back 9 or so months in this very thread for proof) which came directly after all the drama with Chelsea. He literally got on with it and started playing boss, i clearly remember him getting praised by countless pundits etc for his attitude and how he just got on with the job like a pro and didn't let it effect him.
You're reasoning for slagging him off is bizarre.
You're not alone though, countless football fans from all clubs can't get their heads round the concept that footballers have as much right to decide which employee they work for as the next man in the street.
