Was watching BT last night and were showing a Manure champs league game from 10 yrs ago. I put Stones in the same class as Rio Ferdinand, with age on his side to get better. Well Ferdinand made a mistake which led to a goal, so all top players do it. Stones will make mistakes, but as long as he learns from it thats ok by me. For all the doubters on here, enjoy his football, lets give him all the support we can because if he keeps improving like he is we have one hell of a player in our team.

John Stones could be in line for a new contract with Everton

Everton plan to open contract talks with John Stones once the transfer window has closed.

The 21-year-old signed a new five-year-deal in August 2014 to tie him to the club until 2019.

But Everton are ready to renegotiate his current terms to better reflect his growing status as one of the Premier League’s best centre-halves.

The Blues are also ready to hold discussions over a new deal for Bryan Oviedo and Mo Besic.

Oviedo is out of contract at the end of the season but Everton have an option for extend it by a further 12 months.

Besic signed a five-year deal when joining in the summer of 2014 but his progression is likely to prompt improved terms.

Stones, meanwhile, was the subject of three bids from Chelsea last summer and he tried to force through a move to Stamford Bridge by handing in a transfer request.

Everton rejected the offers, as well as Stones’s plea to leave, and remain relaxed about his current situation, with over three years left to run on his contract.

But the Blues still plan to hold talks over a new deal once January is out of the way.

Rom will have 3 years left

Yeah sorry meant 3, although a club of our finances can't let our star players get to their last year or 2 of their contracts that's when the money clubs try take advantage/lowball us knowing we will have to sell on the cheap the season after ala sam byram/Charlie Austin.

Think we need them both tied down come the summer.

I reckon he'll sign.

It's been well documented that he's on around 30k p/week at the moment.

Will probably be offered 50/60k (so parity with Barks) and there will be a £50mil release clause in - probably one like '£45mil for a foreign club, £50mil for an English club', or something along those lines anyway.

Stones and Barkley need new deals this Summer. And I'd be happy to upgrade Lukaku's to "anything he wants"..

I am sorry; he needs 'resting'. Take him out the limelight; I think he looks knackered, is losing concentration easily and not contributing to the defensive side of our game right now.

Love the guy but he is displaying large traits of being fatigued/needing a break.
Lost count the amount of times he gave the ball away today.

Ramiro right now is the better defender; Jags will stay in.
