John Stones transfer saga

There is simply no reason why we should sell him this summer. He's young, he's got bags of talent, he will surely get better next year as he'll get more experience under his belt. Regardless of what we could get this summer, we'd get more next, so it makes no sense to sell.

This is the thing though. As a club we do have a seriously talented core running through our team. Stones / Mccarthy / Barkley and Lukaku. As a club we need to build around these as they are all young lads with their primes yet to come in a few years. Show some ambition and build around these and we wont need the mega millions/billions to seriously challenge.

Its now over to Bill and his mates. Show you're true colours Bill, whats it going to be for your beloved Everton?

£30M plus realistic add ons. I reckon he will move this window. If three CL teams are in the hunt (apparently) it's game over.

Reading through the entire thread, we seem to be arguing over when is best to sell him, and how much for.

Granted, most want to keep him for one or two summers, but that's a crap view of things.

What happened to keeping ace players? We should set out to keep him for good, he's brill, not sell him now, or in one or two years.

So true Gouchy...

If there's going to be a bidding war between Chelsea, man city and Manu then we should be getting a lot more than that!

Shows how important John Stones is to our supporters, nearly 700 posts since this news broke. I hope he stays but
anything can happen, and I don't think we are really flush with money to turn a massive bid down.

Think it will be down to John , his agent and his family whether he moves or not, really want him to choose to stay with us
but the odds could be that he goes.

I'd imagine so, but no doubt it'd be tied up with targets to reach. £30M upfront rising to £40M on appearances/success. I think £32M is the current record for a defender.

I mean we spent 28 million to bring Lukaku here last year. We're not in the same position we were even 2 years ago finances wise.

It is bad enough when everyone in the media contributes to the fallacy that we're scraping by and constantly there for the taking so that teams have the cheek to come in with low-ball offers like they have for Stones, Baines, and Felliani. For our own fans to buy into that mentality still is depressing. Some of you have short memories, we told Utd to stuff one with their Baines bid and then mugged them off for the tune of 28 million a couple of summers ago for a player who wasn't going to be a key component of the new manager's team.

It's not the Arteta days anymore, we can tell teams to get stuffed with their crap offers and hold on to our better players.

Everton revenues have risen 60% in the last two years.

WE ARE NOT A POOR CLUB.
