nice to see joey barton get out of walton. I wonder did he drop his shorts in the shower like he did at goodison ! regardless of what you think of him, he is a character. and i am old enough to complain that the game lacks characters these days. Also; he is a boyhood evertonian, so we will forgive him almost anything. i heard an interview with him on the radio a few weeks ago and he seems an articulate, eloquent and level headed young man .........if only he could stay away from the demon alcohol ! (i know i can't)
good luck joey and remember. if you can't score against liverpool then kick gerrard out of the game

im the first second and third person usually to condemn someone for their crimes.

my quibble with barton is, where is there he can go?

there is no family structure.

his temper and previous form keep any would be team mates from socialising with him in case they get caught up in the whirlwind.

every vulture (press and public) on the street see him as a story to sell to the newspapers for an easy meal ticket.

every ground its, ''murderer'', and whatever else.

he should have tried for a foreign move where his past and the past of his not close family couldnt affect him.

as for going out in liverpool over new years, i wouldnt want to go out around geordie land, even if it meant roughing it with some of the scum that walks the streets round the pool.

Saw his antics first hand in Picton rd Lpool earlier this season hes scum trust me what I saw was pure evil hes waiting to go to court over it so thats three incidents now thats not being a character

Seriosly though 45,000 a week should ease the blow of the abuse he takes from the crowd!

Now many on here know me to be a huge Joey Barton fan but hes not without his problems. As Suits rightly says it seems some of his family are the wrong sort and no doubht he has temper issues, and is extreamly immature! That said you dont get to become a professional footballer without first of all ability but second of all commitment and determination! I hope and expect that with advanceing years the penny dorps and he becomes the leader and player he can be!

I know i regularly make excuses for him but you can see the scenario hes out having a few drinks with his mates and some knobend starts calling him a scumbag and talking about his brother. The only thing hes probably guilty of is nutting someone for insulting him in front of his younger brother, mates and girlfriend, how many of us would not have done the same thing! He should know though that he is and probably always will be, an easy target. Id still love to see him at Everton with our fans behind him, i reckon Moyes could do a job on him.

I dont like him for reasons which others have touched upon. He earns a lot of money, he is showing kids this behaviour. In the week where we lost Phil ODonnell there is a total contrast of characters here. He needs to realise he is in a very good position to make a decent life for himself and become a role model for kids who come from a similar background but it seems as though he is intent on acting like a neanderthal for the rest of his life.
