I said after the Spurs game he needed to do well in a big game to show he can stay beyond the Summer. He didn't do that today and it's looking more likely we do actually need a new keeper now.

We need to start trying to buy players with a bit of character, we've had too many go missing in big games over the last 20 years.

There is no way on gods sweet earth that Oblak would come here.

But the others are interesting.

I echo your last sentence too. I'd had it with Howard from 2009 onwards. And it's barely improved.

Oh I don't think we would either but it's why we just need to keep going if a club says no.

If Koeman & / or Walsh identify a player as the one they want then we should be going all out. With Lukaku making noises, Barkley's contract situation, we'll struggle to sign anyone of note this summer if last summer is anything to go by.

Not to worry we'll have a waterfront stadium and maybe we can throw some of this lot in the water.

Yes one in the low bottom corner when Jags , and Williams bumped into each other in front of him the other a top corner curler when he turned the young Pennington inside out - the third was his fault all our players were like rabbits in the headlights today - Davies and Guye were trying that's all!

This morning is first time I've watched the goals again since going to the game and Joel's responses to two of their goals is cringe worthy.

Well when I say responses, I actually mean lack of as he was stationary and in a poor position for two of them.

The same happened to me when I saw them again and actually focused on them. Hence my post above.

In another thread you posted Sky Sport's post-match analysis and Reidy was rightfully critical of the third as it was horrific: none of the basics.

I'd also be asking question of his first where although the defence must take the majority of the blame, Joel was once again simply a passenger.

Personally, I've always thought Joel was a competent keeper and in the short-term a suitable first choice, but yesterday was shameful.

I appreciate the positive feedback to my other post mate.
I've been copping it left right and centre today, so it's nice to read somebody appreciates my postings ;)

As for Joel.We need better.

I thought he was progressing into a decent keeper but that performance yesterday set him back quite some way in my estimations.

We need a new keeper in the summer.
