Think you're in for a shock Douglas

As I've said this is the biggest game of Martinez career to date he won't gamble it away on a weakened team Mike.

He'll play the players he relies most upon to get the result, just like any manager should do in a semi final at a club as big as ours who's been starved of success for to long.

His professionalism and common sense will dictate this decision.

I'd say the biggest game of his career was the FA Cup final in 2013 actually. And he played your mate Robles in that and won

No that was a free hit, nobody expected them to win. In fact most thought it would be a cricket score to City.

It was a great achievement, but there was no pressure at all on Wigan and as such they could produce any performance and the media would have always given them a favourable report. This is different, we are a massive club and every decision is scrutinised. He's gathered together a young and very talented squad and now he has to show he can produce on the big stage. This is match is a pivotal point in his managerial career, he won't gamble on it, he'll be very calculated and make sure he gives us the very best possibility to win the game by picking his strongest line up.

Starting Robles in the FA Cup final wasn't a gamble at all, Martinez is a manager that likes to have a "cup keeper" so to speak. Plenty of other managers in Europe do this as well, including Guardiola who's one of the most successful of his generation. Robles is our cup keeper, he is starting both games against City as well as the final if we get there. Sorry, but that's that

Will the bookies have us as favourites to beat City over two legs Doug - it's nailed on Robles will play, in all the league cup games, as Tim plays in all the Prem games worse luck!

Al Habsi was injured, he was the only keeper he had.

He actually rushed Al Habsi back from Injury to play the last league game, but he redone his shoulder and had to be operated on.

Robles is a reserve keeper, has been all his career.

The FA Cup final was before the last game of the season. They were relegated after they'd won the cup

I think the fact that article states his shoulder problem "returns" after his first game back Mike would indicate Moomin is correct and Al Hasbi injury had been keeping him out before and not the superior ability of Robles who was averaging 2 goals against in every match for Wigan in the premier league.

I know, they rushed him back for the last league game and played him unfit before Robles. He had just won the FA cup and Martinez picked a half fit keeper to try and keep them up.

A half fit keeper who is rubbish, that's how much faith Roberto had in him.

The state of the pair of you!

Firstly that was years ago.....

Secondly Martinez obviously thought well enough of him to bring him to Everton in his first moves as a new manager.

Robles is improving and Howard is on a very slippery slop. I'm not saying Robles is the answer at all - but he deserves a starting spot and we should take it from there.

Correct, Martinez brought him here. And, take a guess what?? He sees both keepers on a daily basis and still decides to have Howard as his number one choice.

Make your polls on who should be the number one keeper all you want, but Martinez the man who signed Robles still sees an aging keeper past his best better than him.

Next season, I'm confident neither one of them will be our number one keeper. A new keeper will surpass both of them, with Howard going to the MLS.

So you think Martinez would have started Al Habsi if he'd been fit? Even though he actually named him on the bench? Please get your head out the clouds Doug. Robles is Martinez's cup keeper, he's been starting for us in both the FA and League Cup ahead of Howard and he started every cup game ahead of Al Habsi at Wigan
