Joel Robles

If he was throwing the ball into his own net every game he'd be loved by some.
In all seriousness though, you and many others love him based on 3 clean sheets. He didn't deserve to be dropped for Howard when he regained his fitness but it will take a lot more than 3 clean sheets to convince me that this lad is the future for Everton FC. He's young though and seems to have the personality that he cares, is determined and wants to work hard at his game. Time will tell but at this stage of his career, im not understanding the love in as he has only shown me that he is pretty poor.

You all laughed your heads off at Saurez crying at Palace and ripped him to bits, now its a good trait.

Well in BAWK you two faced hypocrites.

Hardly hypocritical. For one, crying at not winning something is quite different to crying at losing something.

Secondly, Suarez had a track record as an awful human being, so seeing him suffer naturally made people happy. If Robles had bitten people, been a racist twerp, cheated etc etc then I'm sure people would have laughed at him crying too.

*cries for Robles*

He came in when the defence was an absolute mess and helped stabilise it. The defence was visibly more confident with him in it because he was able to catch and save shots. With him we began to grind out results again. Obviously that all fell apart when calamity Tim was playing again.

So it's pretty clear we're not going to sign a new keeper. What I would like to have done is Bobby sit down with both Howard and Robles and tell them we don't have a first choice keeper, they've got the preseason to show why they're the best keeper at the club, spilt the gametime they've got through out the preseason games.

Robles deserves his chance, let him know this is now his chance, give him a shot and let him fight for it. Howard's problem is for years he's been locked into our side he's never had to fight for his place, he's became conplacent. Rivalry for places and competition for places does improve players.

Doesn't matter if he's not good enough to be first choice. He's better than Zhoward therefore until we buy a better keeper he should be first choice. There seems to a perverse logic though that says because Robles might not be good enough for the first team we'll stick with Howard even though he's a worse keeper. Truly baffling.

I have always said that Robles should have kept his place when Tim Howard regained his fitness. Robles had played well and was growing in stature and confidence with each game.

However, it is not true to say that the defence fell apart with the return of Howard, he played well and we did have a run of excellent results.

I just don't think Robles deserved to be dropped.

He was awesome in the FA cup and at the very least his performances lit a candle under Howard who then showed decent form for the rest of the season.

tbh - I'm happy with our goal keepers.

Roble should be first choice next season IMO ... we need to be going for the new blood ( robles , galloway , besic ) instead of trusting the old guard ( howard , distan , barry )

Yes agree with most of that, however put Robles in goal as the number one, and see if Howard will fight for his place
or maybe Timmy will take the huff and do one which would suit me, abig wage bill off the books, or he's here for the next
three or four seasons.
