Still think Hart is better than Forster. Hart has had a shambles in front of him for City for the past few years and has singlehandedly kept them in big games. He does have a rick in him but he also has some absolute worldies in him that there are few others capable of. I view Forster as a steady eddie. Butland is the one if we go english and are looking for a permanent signing. In my opinion is better than both the others already and get him in now and he solves our problems for 10 years.

when there are probably better options around for half the price.
- name one better option who we know is available this transfer window?

There's probably loads. I'm not a football manager or a scout, but I do know that Joe Hart for £25m+ and £110k+ wages would be a severe gamble.

There'll be loads of prospective top class keepers on the continent - the likes of Neuer started at Schalke, Buffon at Parma, Courtois at Genk - just because 'keepers out there aren't household names now, doesn't mean they won't be.

That's not what you said though.

You said better options for half the price, nothing you've said above proves that theory. Neuer went to Bayern for 22 million Euros, a player in his position would never have joined Everton.

Courtois went for 9 million euros, and at the time would not have been considered as good as Hart is now.

Buffon went to Juventus for 50 million euros....

We cannot get the same as Hart for half the price. We could get a player with potential for half the price, but that's a totally different scenario.

Hart is proven quality, quite how you think a two time PL winner and former keeper of the year being a gamble is beyond me. It's as much of a non-gamble as you can get.

It's not though mate

It is a gamble

It's not a MASSIVE one like, but it is still a gamble

Tubes might be right, it might be better to spend less on potential than pay over the odds for decent

Or indeed, those saying he's worth the gamble could be right

It is still a gamble though, especially as he's been poor recently and has been dropped by that same side he won those Two League titles with

This is by no means the sure thing some are suggesting it to be, especially when we still need another striker

Recent poor form. Recent being the key word there. Lukaku has had more poor form in the past two seasons with us than Hart has had in six years.

He's been dropped by a manager who wants a keeper with the footballing ability of an outfield player in goal, to play a specific style. If any other manager had gone there Hart would have stayed number one.

"A gamble"

Jesus wept.

It is a gamble mate, especially if we have to pay a decent wedge to get him, which we probably will

It might turn good, but it's not by any means guaranteed and, considering we're weaker in other positions and Stekky has done well thus far, it's reasonable to suggest maybe looking at spending that money elsewhere

Sorry, but I refuse to let this go, signing him is a gamble

I'm not really bothered if you won't let it go, signing Hart is not a gamble in any way. You're crackers if you think it is.
