Interesting point. Hart and toure both being frozen out, 2 of the biggest influences at the club. You are right. I watched the Stoke City game on Saturday and for every goal kick both City's centre halves dropped to the side of the box to collect the ball.
You would think that Hart would be able to adapt his game and have the ability to pass it out from the back but like the Guardian article posted by @MoutsGoat before this has something to do with Pep asserting his presence on the team. Hart has been there for 10 years and seen City change, he has a lot of influence and Guardiola wants to have full control.
I really hope this isn't what football has become, the two boys are servants for that club and its fans, very disappointing if true, from the 'best manager in the world'. Either way, I would be happy for Ronald to pick up the pieces, looks like Joe might make his way to Merseyside, but would not say no to signing Yaya either, doubt his ego would permit a move to Everton.Interesting point. It's something that shouldn't be completely frozen out in my eyes. But most important for me is if he is able to make game-winning saves, that's almost worth as much like a goal(it might as well be). Joey is definitely capable of that and I would very much welcome him here.I obviously wouldn't go out of my way to find a keeper that can't use his feet, but people were making posts as if it defines the quality of the keeper.
You've not been on GOT for longNever seen a keeper judged on his passing ability before.
Easy fix, just get him to stand at the left upright. So what all this i hear that he can't save on his left side
Thank you, I do not give two craps about the keepers passing distance.Never seen a keeper judged on his passing ability before.

It is important to the style that we were trying to play the last 3 years. The same style that has been ridiculed into the ground on these boards. Why waste an opportunity to get a player who has won 5 trophies in the past 5 years and two PFA team of year selections to go after a goalie with potential who will make one mistake and be sold the next year.thats all well and good but its slightly important to certain styles and tactics. hence him being dropped
not necessarily the biggest priority in a keeper for us though. Id still prefer we don't go for the flawed big name and instead get in somebody young and ready to be our number 1 for 87.5 years

I prefer us to play out from the back. I dont personally think Hart is good with the ball at his feet, hence his dropping by Guardiola. I also think he is quite overrated in general and wouldnt be excited by us signing him. The honours you mention are impressive but dont change my opinión of him from having watched him regularly. Fair enough that you do rate him.
I hope we wouldnt be dropping goalies after making one mistake though, what makes you think that? By that reckoning we'd make a big deal out of getting Hart and have to boot him out the next year.
Think the important part to note here is Koeman doesn't want us to play out from the back so it's irrelevant how good Hart's short-passing is. As a keeper required to save shots, clear/catch crosses & hoof it down the field he'd be the best keeper we've had since Martyn in his prime.
Yeah my point orignally was that it is relevant to why he has been dropped at City
I dont think its a great achievement being better than the recent keeping options at a club thats been pretty skint for many years. I certainly wouldnt put "be better than Howard" as a benchmark for the no1 spot at an ambitious and newly flush club. id like us to go for a keeper who has the possibilty, just the possibility mind, of arriving somewhere near the level of De Gea, Cech, Neuer, Stegen, Courtuois or Buffon to name a few. Hart is decent but I haven't seen much in what I have seen to suggest his actual talent being close to his actual reputation in british football. For me we would be signing a big name, not a great player or potentially great player. I reckon a step back down the ladder experience wise and you'd get a greener keeper who is as good or not too far off Hart but has the potential for big improvement that I dont see in Hart. Somebody like I say to be our long term stopper.
Whilst looking for this long term investment I think we could be reasonably well served by Stek right now.
Not that I think Hart is coming. And just my opinión, he could always sign and prove me wronger than wrong.
Hart is in that next level with Butland, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Lloris, Bravo, and Navas.
