Years of a naff ageing Tim Howard had us grasping at straws and convincing ourselves that Robles, yes, Joel Robles might actually be quite good.

We get a bit of money in and now Joe Hart isn't good enough for us?

WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR FANS?!

It's more a case of "he's not signing for us lads"

I'm very surprised he's being booted out so quickly by Guardiola mate, he's a City legend and achieved a lot. Normally new managers slowly phase out players whom they don't want but know are very popular with the supporters but Pep looks as if he's doesn't give a toss wants him gone ASAP. Aren't City fans upset at how he's being treated? Could understand if he'd been dropped straight away for a newly signed keeper but dropping him for Caballero who's been his understudy for years? That's deliberately humiliating him IMO.

I agree mate. tbh i think its a mistake and he should be given a chance under pep. some city fans are behind peps decision, but i think a lot of fans want hart as our keeper still. he was pretty bad for england, but last year he was one of our top players and saved us quite a few times. As I said before you'd be getting a top keeper.

Try and explain why you think we need a "marquee" signing?

So we are able to attract high profile players... Maybe like what man city done with Robinho. Koeman has a very hard time attracting people based on a dream Everton have when we have finnished 11th two season in a row, we need someone big to come in to get the ball rolling

I just don't know how to feel about this. Sure Hart is a class keeper but he has not done well as of late so that is what worries me on how much we would spend to get him. Although maybe a change of scenery and a new team/style would be good for him and revitalize him, I could go for that

But what if we just quietly go about our business and build a side thats able to compete in all the games we play?

Nah reckon we should sign some big name like Robinho for stupid money so he can flop in peace instead of making sensible buys and building a competitive team.

People always go about Robinho, as if hes a bench mark of greatness, City bought him on deadline day and he was nominated for the balloon d'or the season prior to his move.

Heres the list of players we would need to buy in order to match citys ambition.

GK Manuel Neuer Germany Bayern Munich
DF Thiago Silva Brazil Paris Saint-Germain
DF Marcelo Brazil Real Madrid
DF Sergio Ramos Spain Real Madrid
DF Dani Alves Brazil Barcelona
MF Andrés Iniesta Spain Barcelona
MF Luka Modrić Croatia Real Madrid
MF Paul Pogba France Juventus
FW Neymar Brazil Barcelona
FW Lionel Messi Argentina Barcelona
FW Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal Real Madrid

Pick 1 mert.

Yeh I'm in thinking that too, although I hope he does. Comments like, "20m is a bit much, should be going in with 15" though. Oh man.

Players wages effect transfer prices though. There are very few teams that could afford his wages and most of them have decent keepers already. Low demand and a team seemingly with an incentive to sell will drive the price down, even in the current market I would be surprised if he goes for 20m plus.

(nervously awaits vaulting when paper comes out today with Hart sold for 40m headline)

We need a team which is ready to compete and challenge now. Think afew managers have said it in he past "you don't win trophies with kids" personally I like that we have a young squad but we need proven winners so bringing a big name in will not only boost the teams atmosphere but also make them work harder to keep their spot within the team
