You do realise he was arguing AGAINST a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman (that would have made the eventual Marriage Equality Act - in which he was instrumental - nigh on impossible to pass). Yeah he took a bad vote, but then he also led the way (and got out ahead of Obama's White House) on the issue when it came around again in 2012.

It does matter whether you think someone has genuinely changed their views or not. I do believe that Biden has sincerely changed his on several including LGBTQ rights.
