It is disgusting the amount of money the US spends on the defense budget and enriching the military industrial complex. Especially when there are so many other needs in this country and that money could be put into much better use. I’m sure Republicans are pleased with Biden about this one.
Yet they spend feck all on the vets who get "honorably discharged" after getting injured while on duty. Nor on those who now have mental issues as a result of the crap they have seen. Oh yeah most of whom end up on the streets on drugs or on those injured and dealing with the loss of limbs and a productive life.
But hey as long as we all thank them, call them heroes and give them a free coffee or a discount on something that absolve's the government right?
That's the one and only thing I bother discussing with those who support the Republican's. Sure both sides are guilty of Military waste but that party prides themselves on being the service member party. Yet in the 12 years they have controlled things in the last 20 they have done nothing to help veterans.
Instead they have purchased a jet fighter that has too many issues for 155m (for one). Several warships that have no crews and those that do are green and crash or they get hacked.
Not to mention billions replacing dodgy aircraft, guns and vehicles made by dodgy companies who cut corners.
Sad that 6 privately owned charities have to raise money for veterans. None get help from any government not even when several reported interference and theft.
