No surprise, then, that the Biden administration seems a breath of fresh air. The new president has already promised to renew aid to the Palestinians and restore diplomatic ties. Yet some of the hope in him is misplaced. For a start, Mr Biden will not reverse all his predecessor’s policies, as Tony Blinken, his secretary of state, made clear at his confirmation hearing. Asked if the administration recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and planned to keep America’s embassy there, he gave a succinct answer: “yes and yes”.

I see the Mail on Sunday have published an article by Steve Hilton today, slating Biden but somehow not mentioning his own employment as an opinion hack at Fox, his belief that Fauci did Covid or that the election was stolen from Trump.

The right wing is back, ladies and gentlemen!

Not to minimize the situation at the Irish border, because it’s obviously an important piece in global politics, but we’re in the midst of the greatest national health and economic crisis in a century and also less than a month removed from a violent mob trying to overthrow our own government. It’s not necessarily at the top of his triage list right now.

TBF pete we don't know; all I'd point out is that the decision was changed within hours to the right one.

Contrast that with HMG basically ordering Oxford not to deal with a US firm because we couldn't trust Trump not to filch the doses.
