Its almost like Canada could have built a pipeline through their own country or something.

I'm liberal and have nothing against pipelines or fracking and the like. I use ample amounts of gasoline for my car and heat my home w/ natural gas. A stupid pipeline wouldn't have any opposition here if the drilling/transportation companies would show just a sliver of compliance with our, very relaxed pro-bidness, safety and emergency preparedness laws. But even that is too much for them.

The whole point is that the oil has to reach the refineries, which are located in the Gulf of Mexico. No way for Canada to do that without going through the US.

it does make me chuckle seeing all the progressive celebs fawn over a guy who would be considered a Tory in the UK.

Biden is the middle man. He has conviction in God, and holds many liberal values. Biden is the ultimate reason why the Democrats were able to defeat Trump, as he was able to sway the blue-collar whites towards him. Trump was desperate to run against Bernie, because he knows for a fact that if he were to run against a socialist like Bernie, he would sweep the elections.

Socialism will never come to America. That's one thing America is very proud about.

£2000 sounds nice. Quite a bit more than the $2000 that’s been discussed so far.

I don’t think it’s right to frame what we want as “free” healthcare. I’m more than happy to pay additional taxes if that gets us to a place where I can see a doctor if I need to. Paying hundreds of dollars a month for “access” to the privilege of paying additional hundreds of dollars to actually see a medical professional is stupid. The most common fear mongering that takes place is the dreaded wait times in socialized systems, but how many people are putting off procedures for months/years here because they’re trying to save up the money, or just never having them done because they can’t afford them?

I have a friend who voted for Trump, I've talked about him before. Tuesday we got a beer and 2 other friends showed up and he started bitching about taxes and that Biden is going to raise them. Told him that Trumps "AMAZING" tax thing was scheduled to start kicking in higher taxes this year anyways. He didn't believe me until he read up on it.

Then I asked him about healthcare. He was ADAMANT that there shouldn't be any nationalized health care. No matter how many things he threw at me and I gave rebuttals he said that we don't need it(then why has no other developed country in the WORLD EVER gone from a nationalized health care to the US version?), taxes will go up (they will, yup. But you don't have to pay for insurance or out of pocket stuff), etc.

Basically was saying "this is a political issue, we shouldn't be talking about it at the bar" which I get but health care SHOULDN'T be a political fn issue ffs..
