Job Update:

Anyone see 'Tropic Thunder'? Well looks like we had a special effects guy who blew the [Poor language removed] out of someones house last night. I found a nice suburban house to film a drive-by shooting. Nice Italian family, dopey sort of tradie son, rotund loud but fun daughter. Nothing to fear says I. Exciting effects, youll get paid, the street has a bit of a party says I. They replaced the windows with sugar glass, added a few exploding props in the lounge room, blinds that fall down and get mangled, all the goodies.

Anyway numbnuts puts too much explosives in the charges, and ball barings and crap. I wasnt there when it happened but this morning when I came in the [Poor language removed] had hit the fan. Owners furious, blame games and repair bills. Art Department in meltdown, Locations Department in damage control, Producers in flying shrieking panic terror.

The cordial on the table had blown up and was all over the ceiling, theres holes in the gyprock, chips in the wood skirtings and cracks in the tiled floors. Like a bomb went off in their lounge room. Literally.

Lesson for you guys: If a film scout knocks on your door think twice if he starts talking about 'drive-by shootings'
