I still doubt we will get him some CL side will step in still we can but hope

Would love us to sign him, reminds me of kanchelskis with his direct style of play and he's lightning quick. I think he'd be a massive hit at Everton....... Not sure how much he'd go for though given Valencia's financial situation, possibly 6~8 million

On form at Betis, he looked as good as Ronaldo does when running with the ball down the flanks.

Would really be an exciting player.

For Betis he was fantastic, which is why Valencia broke their transfer record to get him.

At Valencia though, under Koeman, he has struggled. But in saying that, their whole squad have.

I think Koeman has that effect on players. Never saw him at Valencia but I did see him on Betis and he did look good. Given that depth is a prob on the team not sure if splashing 12-15M on him is a good idea. I would open of swapping Arteta (considering I think 08-09 is his last year here) and a couple mil for him and Manny.

Quality player and probably has the attributes we lack in midfield. Pace and directness. He's had a poor season but so have everyone at Valencia. He seems a Moyes type signing for me. Someone who's very talented, has a poor season and revives it here at Everton. Like Pienaar and Arteta did.

From what I've heard he'd rather go to a Spanish club but he would be interested in England. One of the lads on the Guardian podcast said where definatly interested.

I'm very happy with the players where being linked with. Players like Joaquin, Fernandes, Diarra, Arshavin etc are the way to go if we want to move forward.

If we did get him then its pretty obvious that Moyes is looking to move Arteta to central midfield.

Yep agreed.

I prefer Arteta on the wing in a 4-4-2 but in a 4-5-1 he could really shine there - in the centre.

But it's a case of fitting Ossie in too who is a superb footballer.

As for Joaquin, superb player, would be class for us. I highly doubt it will happen.

Whether we get him or not, it will probably be for the best. We have a (Basque) spaniard and a couple of Portuguese - Fernandes should be Joaquin's contact for the lowdown on Everton. If MF tells it like it is, he'll know he'll either like it or dislike it, and should make the right choice.
