bought world soccer magazine der and has a feature 6 of the best most promising strikers to step up from 2nd tier football dis yr and our joao gets a wee write up, as does that mlapa lad we were linked with durin summer
 
Just asking for an update here, really. Anyone have an idea what's up with this kid? Just saw the news article on the OS writing about the reserves playing Sunderland tonight. Joao Silva isn't even in the squad to form the XI from. What's up with that?

He may be crap, you know... :D

The lad is not the finished article but scored a few goals last season. I think he was the top goal scorer in the 2nd tier.

Hope Moyes can do some good with him.

I just heard that in the same 2nd tier there is a better alround player than João Silva who also has a knack for goals. His name is Ze Luís and plays for Gil Vicente. He's only 19.

Bebe is one of those misteries.

I had a word with a fellow of mine who knows some people in Sporting's scouting department. He was told that they were waiting to see him perform in the top flight.

The guy is over 1,90m and has skill. So he's strong and skilfull but still a very rough diamond.
 
Apparently scored 3 times against Huddersfield reserves in a behind closed doors friendly yesterday in which we won 6-1. Osman, McAleny and Gueye got the other goals.

A hat trick is always nice, whoever its against. Wonder if he'll start Monday?? Ha
 
Here's to hoping the Portuguese Wookie Man-child turns into a goal machine! Seriously with those eyebrows he must be part wookie. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
 

Will be good if he can keep banging in goals in the reserve squad, deffo seeing a quick transition to the prem if he does.
