Something like ten or eleven permanent First Team manager have arrived since Howard first made Jimmy a permanent member of the back room staff and each has seen the same qualities in the man to decide he offers a skill set that is probably unique, yet invaluable to the smooth running of the Club. Kitman May be the official role, but from what I’ve heard, he offers advice, moral support, honesty and humour in equal measure to an ever changing team of highly tuned athletes. He’ll have the confidence and respect of so many inside the club, for so many years, you can’t put a price on what he brings. I don’t care what he earns, it’s what he brings, and many judges better than me closer to the running of the team day to day, over several decades say it’s important. That’ll do for me. Well played Jimmy!

Many years ago a mate of mine ( a Manc as it happens) used to work for Ravenhead laundry and would collect/deliver the kits to Bellefield. He could never speak highly enough about Jimmy Martin, and that appears to be a common theme with the vast majority of people who deal with him. A superb ambassador for the club
