No surprise when it’s a 39 year old Ashley Young coming on, need more balance in the squad so weren’t relying on our wingers always having to come back to help.Look at the difference when he went off, even when he's not scoring he puts a shift in and defensively he gives us a lot....
Probably too much as it reduces his attacking output
Because we're struggling for numbers and he's very committed. Works his socks off every game and the ovation he got when he was subbed was testament to this.If he was ill then why did he start?
was it his decision to come off then?Because we're struggling for numbers and he's very committed. Works his socks off every game and the ovation he got when he was subbed was testament to this.
Alcaraz couldn't play the role that Lindstrom does imo, looks like more of a "pulls the strings" type of player who needs to be in the middle, rather than one who puts a selfless shift in bombing up and down the flank and tracking back.was it his decision to come off then?
he had a 15 minute break at half time, and then lasted 9 minutes in the second half before being subbed off
could we not have played alcaraz instead of him or brought on alcaraz instead?
Another loan would be perfect as it would give us a opportunity to see if he gets better in a moyes system or becomes similar to jack HarrisonAnother loan might make sense - he's makes some really nice passes.
Id be interested in seeing Patterson there. He would be good defensively and I think he has the athletic ability to play the full length of the pitch and can cross. If he doesnt work there then he has no role.I don’t see anyone else in the squad capable of doing Lindstrom’s role on the right currently. Not in this setup. Hes doing a lot of the slog work. Harrison might have the conditioning but he doesn’t have the touch or pass. McNeil doesn’t have the speed and conditioning but can pick a pass. Ndiaye’s best qualities would be smothered with the defensive duties. Should we lose Lindstrom in this current set up, the best replacement would be a younger Coleman. I feel like that says a lot in of itself.
Moyes is probably happy with Lindstrom’s performances given the circumstances but whether he stays or goes depends on how Moyes sees him fitting in with a Coleman replacement that has to be brought in. The thing going for Lindstrom is that Moyes prefers inside players over wingers and prefers the width to come from the fullbacks. He better be dazzling Moyes in training or he’s not gonna stay.
He was struggling to breathe very early on, and was gasping for breath after he would go on a run. I said to people around me he must have a cold or something, this was then confirmed by Moyes in his post match.Thought he took a sore one early on and that’s why he was subbed? His improvement since Dyche walked has been another bright spot for me.
Changed the game him going off for young, poor sub from Moyes, but you have to say his options are limited.
Cheers for that, I didn’t notice him struggling or hear the past match comments. He was struggling to breathe very early on, and was gasping for breath after he would go on a run. I said to people around me he must have a cold or something, this was then confirmed by Moyes in his post match.
