Would be happy with that

I think we'd have been better off for having Jelavic on for the full 90, absolutely. Anichebe contributes nothing outside of the penalty area. Jelavic's aerial ability and general footballing skill dwarf's Vic's and that was noticeable. He doesn't link up like Jelavic does with the rest of the team. If he could play, he'd be a player, like. Decent to throw on off the bench though.

I hope Jelavic is back sharpish or I will be very worried. You kind of forget we've got no natural strikers after him. The fact Naismith didn't come on suggests he may well be kept on the right.

Vic offers nothing in terms of movement and has zero positional awareness..

Credit where it's due, was a nice goal but he effects the team in a negative way.

You have to wonder why Vellios isn't even troubling the bench let alone getting on the pitch. Is McAleny injured too? Jelavic being injured would bring two problems. There not being anyone near his level to replace him and also us not having much attacking options to play around with. I can envisage Fellaini up front on his own at the end of the Swansea game unless we're winning.

I would've passed it.

Also, the keeper should've been nowhere near Anichebe's first 'goal'. It was a poor header.

I was fuming when Pienaar didn't pass, but in fairness we were dominating and it seems like everyone thought they could score. Pretty sure Moyes will look into that.

My theory from what I've seen of Vellios so far is that either he's a tad on the gash side, or he's got pretty much no presence when played on his own up top. Possibly a bit of both. I guess we're sticking with Victor up front if Jelavic is/gets injured. Don't know what the situation is with Naismith, like. Looks like he's either below ic in the pecking order up front or he's going to be employed only as a winger/number 10.

If we play 4-4-2 at the Liberty we will get absolutely slaughtered. Dont know what peoples obsession is with 4-4-2, it really isnt a good formation. Our normal formation of 4-2-3-1 is so much better. The flexibility of the front four will really trouble teams and the 2 sitting deep allow them a lot of freedom. But yeh, we will get killed if we play 4-4-2 at the Liberty.

But with Jelavic's injury, my guess would be the Southampton game. Cant see Moyes chucking him in against Swansea, didnt think he would start against Leeds anyway, so if its just bruising i would guess he would be fit and ready to go again against Southampton next Saturday.

Anchovy will do the business against the Swans anyway. Hat trick I am thinking. Come on Victor lad, I have faith.

If we had the 2nd goal in the 1st half ...we would have won, although when Ba came on it galvanised Newcastle , never again should Neville be in our midfield.

No news on Jelavic's injury...be suprised if he plays on Saturday tbh.

If Jelly is injured for the Swans I think Victor has earnt a start. If you look at 2012 in general and forget everything that has gone on before he has scored some important goals when called upon and generally seems to be improving. I was also impressed that he went ballistic when he scored and showed some real fire rather than his 'I'm better than this' shrug he had been giving when scored.

Agreed Victor has earned a start if the Jellyfish is injured. I'd much rather see him as an impact sub because I don't think he does it enough from the start, but here is perhaps his chance to show us he can shine against a decent team. Come on Victor lad, let it shine, taste the rainbow, son.
