Jelavic Injury?

Anichebe hit the crossbar from 2 yards out -- crossed the line but hardly clinical.

If Osman was through on goal 1-1 I would still have crossed fingers and toes.

Give the lad a break, Victor didn't hit the crossbar - the keeper deflected it up onto the bar. And be honest - who out of all of you would have passed to Ossie if you had been in that same position to shoot??????

I would've passed it.

Also, the keeper should've been nowhere near Anichebe's first 'goal'. It was a poor header.

It would be a interesting competition. Who would roll around on the floor moaning more, Jelavic or Anichebe ??

The sooner they both stamp out this part of there game the better!

Nowhere near as clear cut an opportunity as the Pienaar/Osman one, but while Jelly was still on, Mirallas could have laid the ball off to him for an uncontested shot from the edge of the box. I thought Mirallas was lively and positive, but he had better learn to pass to team mates in more promising positions rather than always going for glory himself. He certainly can make great passes - the one to Anichebe proves it. Pity it came to nothing when Anichebe miscontrolled it.

I expect no announcement on Jelavic at all this week, him to be absent from Saturday's squad - again unexplained but understood to be due to his injury, then an announcement next week - perhaps even after the Leeds game that he's out for 5-6 weeks.

If we're looking for scapegoats we can take the Ref and Liner or the Jag getting Bullied for the whole of the second half. Can't really blame Victor for not scoring deep enough into the net, if it crosses the line it's a goal, simple as.

I think it's just bruising to the knee, depending on how bad it is and whether it's bruised the bone he'll probably feature in the Swansea game.

The worrying bit was that after the initial pain of the impact injury he played on for 30 minutes before collapsing in severe pain, when you'd be expecting the pain to lessen not increase. I'd be surprised if he's fit for Saturday myself.
