Our medical team have done a brilliant job with Gomes but have messed this up beyond belief.

They gambled by not taking him straight to surgery in the first place. They shouldn't have even allowed him to be involved in those first two games tbh.

He's never had a bad injury record so just got to hope after this one that's finally it. I find it hard to blame the player here. A lot of this is on the medical team who frankly aren't good enough.

Massive shame. Seemed like he would be back soon but now more surgery. We will have ended up selling Gueye and not having a DM type replacement for a whole season. Didn't seem possible Gomes would be back and possibly available for the last 12 games and before Gbamin was even close!
