His agent said the other month the reason why an elite club havent paid the money for him is because nobody is sure of his position and that he needs to play centre back...

I noticed and im fully aware it means nothing, but it did surprise me, but his value on transfermarkt was 25.5m.

Which is quite big for a player nobody had heard of a week ago.

Wasn't that his 'agent' who doesn't represent him?

Bernard Collignon;

He's said it a few times.

“In January 2018, Klopp called Mainz and wanted to commit him as a centre-back, who also helps out in midfield,” he said.

“He is on many shortlists,” Collignon said during an interview with Fussball Transfers. “However, not as a top candidate because his exact position is unclear. In my opinion, he is a player worth 60 million euros. It’s time for him to play as a centre-back.”

I've been tracking him since he first broke through as a 17 year old mate. I'm surprised we've nipped in before all the big boys.

World class, missing piece of the jigsaw this kid, taking us right to the top and so on

Why has his agent tucked his jeans into his socks the scruffy meff

Im sorry to say but theres a MASSIVE difference between them, stat wise.

....I do think it’s misleading to simply compare stats. I appreciate both play in the same position, but I suggest they are different ‘types’.

I have it in my mind that Brands/Silva wanted real athleticism in central midfield, a player with a stride that covers ground and ‘makes the pitch look small’. Often we play teams who run through and past us. Perhaps Gbamin will give us a different dimension because he’s a different type.

Interesting read;

“In January 2018, Klopp called Mainz and wanted to commit him as a centre-back, who also helps out in midfield,” he said.

“But Mainz did not want to let him go in the middle of the relegation battle. In the summer, Liverpool signed on to Fabinho.

“I had meetings with Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and many other clubs. He is in the shortlist. However, not as a top candidate, because his exact position is unclear.

“In my opinion, he is a player worth 60 million euros. It’s time for him to play as a centre-back. There he would be a top player in all four major leagues and would make a great career.”

The lads 23, we shouldnt expect the finished player.

This is a signing we can get excited about. Young, strong, mobile, versatile and will be keen to impress. More excited by this one than Kean to be honest.
