Seeing as he wouldn't be replacing a 23 year old Gueye, that seems a bit silly.
I noticed and im fully aware it means nothing, but it did surprise me, but his value on transfermarkt was 25.5m.
Which is quite big for a player nobody had heard of a week ago.

....I do think it’s misleading to simply compare stats. I appreciate both play in the same position, but I suggest they are different ‘types’.
I have it in my mind that Brands/Silva wanted real athleticism in central midfield, a player with a stride that covers ground and ‘makes the pitch look small’. Often we play teams who run through and past us. Perhaps Gbamin will give us a different dimension because he’s a different type.

Apparently his best position is as a 6. He played out of position last season and as a result his successful tackles were cut in half.
The lads 23, we shouldnt expect the finished player.
He'll be well liked as long as he hassles the living 'beep' out of every player in our half and kicks a few players and aggressively pleads his innocence to the ref.
