Looks quick, athletic, strong and everything in the highlights reel looks forward thinking be it a quick diagonal ball or running forward positively with it himself.

Different player to Gueye but could well be a better all rounder than him and it might mean less reliance on Gomes to provide the attacking intent.

Yes and it gets the majority of them nowhere
We are in a different position now,we can afford to buy off the bigger clubs whereas most cannot
Pardon? If you look at City, Spurs, that shower, Barca, Real, Bayern etc. then they buy many (if not most) of their players from clubs below or similar in stature.

Yes, there'll be those from clubs above them, or as I mentioned like-for like swaps, but not in the majority of cases. You get somewhere by getting the best players.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice that we're able to attract players from Barca, it's a good sign, however for me it's not where you buy from but the calibre of player.

We're attracting players who would have gone elsewhere, whether that be from Barcelona or someone from lower, who'd have had the attention of others.

For example, if the rumours about this Brazilian player is true then it says a lot about our growing stature, where you'd have expected him to go to a set few.

Am I bothered that he's coming from Fluminense and their stature? Not at all - I am bothered how good of a player he is. There's players at City I wouldn't take.

Name me the clubs above City ,Barca ,Real ,Bayern ,Spurs and the scum
That's why they buy from below them
You cant buy from clubs that don't exist
I agree with buying the right calibre of player, but the chances are that a squad player for an elite club is better than Watford's starters, not always but generally

Up until recently, Liverpool haven't been at the top echelons of the game, yet didn't buy many from above them even though financially they're pretty darn strong.

Many of their star players have came from below them, when they could have looked at Barcelona, Real et al. like you're suggesting is our beast method.

Same with City who are only just growing in Europe: where did they get the likes of Sane, De Bruyne, Stones (cough), Laporte from? They're not even like-for-like.

Quite simply, they bought the best players for their system at the best price, regardless of who they were playing for; it's naive logic to think otherwise.

The other vids made him look like Papa (the wardrobe) Bouba Diop

This resembles Vieira / Essien...

I know hes a DM, but i think he has all the qualities to be a very good right back.
So you’ve watched a number of videos which all remind you of central midfielders, and come to the conclusion that he should be a right back? Interesting take.

Depends on your budget. The best player at Everton is better than the worst player at city by a long, long, way. That’s all you need to remember really.
Would you take a second choice RF from Barca over Watford's first choice RF.
Chances are the elite teams have superior quality on their bench ,not all but some.
If you named Cities starting 11 and bench ,at least 3 of their bench would walk into our starting 11
for Barca read 4-5

The six players believed to have been made available are Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic, Malcom and Nelson Semedo with the identity of the sixth player unknown, according to SkySports.

All 5 of those players that Barca did not want would walk into our first 11 as would Umtiti who is not getting regular game time

liverpool only recently started spending money and now they have stopped
They are a business with consumers not fans
City bought players from bigger clubs than them because they had the money to blow the opposition out of the water and offer ridiculous wages

On my phone so can't go into enormous detail, but I've called this FSG summer for some time on here (with the resident lurkers). Even with record breaking revenue, performance, sponsorships etc, their wage bill is so high that unless they sell a big player there isn't the money there to buy players. The money isn't there.

FSG have run a very tight ship, are very good business people and have translated it well to football in terms of recruitment. Their worry must be that sides start to whack a tax on players they try to buy now (in the same way they used to with us under Moyes).
