Harry Maguire being top of that list is great banter.

Cucurella managing to make Mendy not the worst purchase on that list.

He could become the best centre back in world football.

He's English and on a long term deal.

Defensive midfield market changed with Rice and Caicedo and the centre back market should change with Branthwaite.

I believe his old side have a 10% sell on fee.

£125mil and a 20% sell on fee. Even then id prefer we hold onto him for 3 more seasons.
why would someone pay 25% over the world record fee for a CB, and on what planet would we hold out for that.

Realistically to demand what he is worth we’d have to be in a much stronger financial position.

If only one club comes in for him we’ll sell well below the 100M he’s worth. Our best hope is a bidding war breaking out.

I’ve said to all my family and friends i truely believe he will be worlds most expensive centre back. Just watching him is incredible. He barely puts a foot wrong. I think he can play for any team he wants. I however have a horrible feeling it’s going to be Liverpool

he should be.

the bar is maguire and he's already better than he ever was.

he's young and English, that makes him worth more than say other class cbs like VVD, Dias
Maguire isn’t the bar everyone knows that was a bad transfer so nobody will use it as a yardstick. Branthwaite is very good but it’s hard to say exactly where he is on a global scale and that would impact what we get. Colwill van de ven Saliba thiaw and others are very good too and if you can get one of them then you might not go big for branthwaite we are being a bit biased on here I think if you told a random fan of another club he was worth 100 mil they’d piss themselves laughing at the moment just like we would about players they rate at their clubs.

Doesn't matter what other clubs value him at though, we watch him every week and know his worth ( they probably only watch us the odd time )

And FYI branthwaite is astronomically better than colwill

I bet you had the same view on £60mil Lavia or £115mil Caicedo. Even Rice. DMs were never valued at those figures.

Who would you put a higher value on DM Caicedo or CB Branthwaite?

Everton do not need to sell for lower than the value they put on him and that should factor the benefit in keeping him for 3 years and his potential fee then.

Colwill is a year younger and a different kind of defender. The others are at big clubs who can ask any fee they wish.

Comes back to Rooney for me. We sold him for 50% of his value at that time. If we had waited 3 seasons we could have made a far higher deal.

Colwill is a year younger but at the moment yes.

The fee would need to be such that we could sign 3 young players who would improve the team far more than holding onto him.

The only real risk in keeping him is injury.

Think we would all prefer to hold onto him £125m and only one thing happening and that’s him leaving. We’d be lucky to hold out for £80m initial offers will be low ball id imagine anyway.

If he continues absolutely zero chance he’s staying for 3 more years.
