Actually it is true.
If you remember there was talk in January that the loan was being cancelled because he was not getting enough minutes on the field.
PSV were allowed to keep him because they promised he would play more after Christmas.
Made 8 league appearances (and more in various cups). Missed a few games through injury and was then on the bench following the injuries (not unusual practice).

You also wouldn’t expect a 20 year old foreign lad with barely any senior appearances to come in and cement a starting CB place either but to rotate and earn his spot.

No surprise he wants to leave. He probably thinks he is too good for us...and that he should be playing in a team in europe fighting for things. The fact that he hasn't signed a new contract is very telling. If we need to sell, them sell but not ti liverpool

For me the fact the club were thinking of bringing him back tells you they were not happy with the loan.

But, the real point is that we cannot assume that he is now ready to play in the Premiership every week yet .

If he stays (I think he will), he has all of the tools to be a very good center half. Rapid for his height and seems a player. These are the players Dyche has to develop if he wants to keep his job. Barring freak injury luck of course

I just see it from Branthwaite’s point of view.
He has established himself in the first team at PSV , so why choose to return to a relegation battling, basket case of club just to be asked to prove himself all over again?
For the privilege of playing alongside such sterling CBs as Keane and Godfrey.
He’s not an Evertonian and has no real affiliation to the club.
Can’t blame him if he’d prefer to pursue his career at PSV.
Waste of his time coming back here.

Hes already stated hes looking forward to coming back and earning a spot as a starter !

Also if the club was in championship and wanted him back he would come.

Theres only so much an imagination can conjur up from those quotes of his.

He won’t get past Dyche and his love affair with the gormless Keane.
I think the lad would be foolish to choose to return here.
But if we won’t agree to sell him , he will probably have to spend a season here watching Keane steer us towards the Championship.

We do need to be cautious about what he has to offer at this stage in his development.
Nah screw that, play him until he drops.

He will be spending his prime years elsewhere so if he suffers burn out its not our problem.

Every single minute of every single game, get him in there.

Keane seems the perfect player to sell to Saudi.

What about these quotes?

Speaking to Voetbal Primeur, he said: "I had very good experiences with Ruud. He is a great coach who clearly explains his vision to his team, making it clear to everyone what is expected of them.

"So that is very positive. An absolute great. That man lives and breathes football. He had so much experience."

Asked about his future, the England youth international said: "That is always difficult to say as a professional football player.

"I am under contract with Everton, so it is their right not to want to sell me, of course. I am absolutely open to staying at PSV, but the clubs have to decide together."

Blimey! Seriously, players have no chance with us do they? Can't wait to jump all over them.
