Okay, so regardless of what we think about the board, there has to be some money their right? Presumably, they've contributed something, plus we received a good bit of cash for the AJ transfer.

Despite the fact that their obviously is money, moyes has signed 3 players on free. Now in the last couple seasons, our team has struggled most in january when fatigue sets in on the current squad; one could argue that thats the time in which we need the most reinforcements

what do you think of the possibility of moyes intentionally spending conservatively (and by that, i mean not spending at all), so that he can splurge in january, and actually know what positions need reinforcing the most rather than speculating, as in january after a couple injuries have inevitably set in, he'll have a clearer idea of where we need knew bodies.

i honestly think our current squad can manage till january no problem, maybe moyes believes this too and is gearing up for what comes after that. just a thought to maybe put your minds at ease

Nice post and i like your thinking, sadly Moyes body language and his talking dont match what your saying, somebody has dropped a big clanger somewhere and from what Moyes is saying it aint him, when was the last time we heard from BK? The watch this space speech? Hardly "I have a dream", but it gave us all hope and then what? 2-3 weeks of nothing and then b00m Davey pulls his rabbits out the hat and suddenly we got the makings of squad.

I honestly think some cash will be spent and i dream that we will see Moutinho wearing 11 for us. I just cant see it being him, but i can see some big money spent on somebody, i reckon we will get 1 Biggy, 1 medium, 1 very tiny and 1 Davey special little loaner. Then our money is gone and unless he feels we need more loans, i cant honestly see us spending any money in January, Moyes has said he doesnt like buying at this time, but maybe with everything that has gone on he might have to.

So maybe your right, if we dont splash some cash, we might spend it in January or then again we might have to keep it for the players we have bought this season. If we believe what we have read, Obinna and Castillo will have to be paid for sometime between now and next July/August and whilst i dont imagine they would cost more than 10m they still gotta be paid for.

And if at this point Moyes hasnt signed his contract, hes gonna be leaving, so maybe BK knows whats gonna happen and hes saving what little money we have for the next guy. :O.

But for some reason i think we are gonna spend some cash, god knows why, i honestly didnt think we was going to sign anybody and then b00m Davey gets us 4 decent prospects for buttons, hes took a gamble, but only with his own reputation. Oh and possibly our season. :D

Or maybe BK has been so quiet as he has been brokering these deals and letting Moyes crack on with the prem. As we have no true CEO they are working harder than normal and have no time to massage our ego's till their work is done.

You/we/I never know.

BK working hard at cocking it up,i don,t think any big name will sign till we all know what the boss is doin

i doubt it, moyes isn't a fan of the January window.

he's not a fan of anything, the reason he wont sign is coz he's weighing up an offer from bbc for him to appear regularly on Grumpy old Men

Whilst I appreciate the club can't really comment on finances until the window is over, we do need to be told what the hell is going on at some point.

Either the club has dropped a clanger somewhere with the financial running of Everton, there is a dispute at board level or all is dependent on a new stadium.

Could be all three for all we know. Or there could be £20m just sitting there waiting to be spent. After the money we had available for Fernandes last summer, the sales of AJ and McFadden, the reduction of the wage bill, and prize and tv money for a tremendous season in the league, you would think there would be cash to spend.

It's very worrying we haven't spent 1p this summer. I just hope there are some answers.

i think we will have a new owner by january, cnt see kenwright stayin he aint got no cash to fash if he loves us like he says he does he should move on and jus be a fan

Is this what it's come to? Managing untill January?

There is no significant money for transfers - not now or January. We took 3 months to get 3 loan deals and a free in. The evidence is all around us. The club is skint and operating on empty.

maybe if we hadn't brought in jagielka baines and yakubu all at the same time, and instead spaced it out and maybe bought one in january (at which point we'd also have the mcfadden money to spend), our squad would have been more refreshed.

noone knows for sure what he's thinking, all i'm saying is it could be saving up tactically.

then again after todays result my faith in our ability to get to january in a good position has severely diminished.

i know what you mean about his words and body language, i was just kind of hoping it was all a bluff and he had it all figured out beneath that worried exterior:D

I've stated that thought myself a couple of times in the forum.

The most important thing right now is to recycle the players' spirit.

January usually is made for details or to get that joker, who'll do well for the reminder of the season and then get a foot in his rear bottom.

But can also be a window for oportunity. A good player who's not getting quality time in some big club, hunger for first team football may be available.
