January Transfer Window 2026

I would be ok with Armstrong going back on loan since we will have multiple midfielders come back in. It's probably better for him to play at Preston every week rather than be on the bench for us.

I would 100% have him in the team next season
He's a first team player and clearly good enough. He doesn't need championship football, he needs premier league football. He had his loan spell now it's time to fight for selection here.

I don't disagree that he is ready for the PL, my statement was more based on my opinion that moyes will not be playing him ahead of Gana, Garner, KDH, Tim, and probably even Rohl and Alcaraz. (He offers more than the last two)

I just think Moyes is reluctant to replace experience with potential, so he likely would see very little playtime as it stands.

We have a very small squad currently. Even with full numbers it's small and there's no guarantee of avoiding more injuries. I just think he's part of the squad and he's taking his opportunities so why send him on loan?

Moyes isn't daft.
Yes , he has a reluctance to trust youth until they show they have ability and discipline and work rate.

Harrison has demonstrated that he has all 3.

Surely he stays. Not saying that he plays every game but Moyes will play him .

I just think it's what Moyes will do. I could be wrong.

Right now we have six midfielders for three spots if everyone is fit. Moyes prizes experience so he's likely to select from those sic before he selects Armstrong. Now in the summer, Gana could leave and we could sell Alcaraz maybe, and Armstrong is much more likely to play.

So if Moyes isn't going to play him (likely scenario in my mind) I think letting him finish his loan is sensible.
