January Transfer Window 2026

I said this at the time

I'm not suggesting that he is a better player or prospect but he is an out and out winger with pace and an end product and was much more of the type of player that we needed.
I can't remember a Moyes team ever playing with rapid wingers.

I don't think that's how he likes his teams to operate, generally speaking

Think back to his teams here - Arteta, Osman, Pienaar, McFadden, Kilbane etc

I think I'm right in saying you could largely say that about his West Ham sides too

You may be right , I'm not sure.

However IMO our team is crying out for some pace.

Definitely. Especially with Grealish slowing things down, an option of pace was essential. The summer ‘strategy’ was a right mess.

He also was injured for the majority of last season so it would of been considered a gamble that rarely bodes well for us when acquiring players with an injury history. Also I think Leicester wanted high 30s for him
It's a move that looks better in retrospect but there were some serious unknowns at the time. Also even though he looks a talent thriving in the championship doesn't guarantee success.
