January Transfer Window 2026

Theory: With Roma wanting to offload Ferguson, surely its worth taking a chance on him. He's better than Beto. Agree a deal to take over his loan and sell Beto. Re-invest that money in a fullback. Buy a striker (possibly Ferguson, if it goes well) in the summer.

Mate … Brighton let him leave and they are good at judging young players , went to westham and did nothing now went to a different country and has done nothing and they want rid …

Why is he worth “taking a chance “ on?

Well. I remember Ferguson coming to Goodison and putting on a show. If EFC have to spend big on two fullbacks then it might make sense. Of course, I have no idea what I am talking about really...
We have a great history of buying crap players because they played well against us. Remember vlasic for example.

Ferguson had a handful of good games and got mega hyped like lots of Brighton players do. But has bombed since. The fact Brighton have been happy to let him leave whilst having a 35 year old welbeck as their first choice says it all.

I agree with you but simply for the sake of balance they also let Gyockores go. Chelsea let KDB and Salad go. It happens in football.
Players can improve, however Ferguson is a player who had shown fantastic promise and whose form fell off the edge of a cliff.
Was it simply injury related or were there external reasons? No idea but he's had chances now at Wham and Roma and neither of them have taken a punt on him.

He is (or has been) an exciting player on his day. Summer before last I would have said take the chance. However he’s been binned off by three clubs now, so it’s a no from me too.

The euros was 2 years after his Everton debut, what are you dribbling on about here?
And that season leading up to the euros Moyes had on the bench at times. You give Moyes credit for Rooney, if you want. But you’re chatting utter nonsense. It’s like a snooker coach trying to take credit for O’Sullivan and Hendry

It’s not about “giving him credit” it’s about calling out something that’s just factually false. In the 03/04 season, Rooney started 26 of the 34 league games he was available for.

If you want to have a go at Moyes, maybe pick something else because this one is a dead duck I’m afraid.
