January Transfer Window 2026

He certainly appeared to be the last few days. But you just know if we were to sign him the goals would dry up, or a season ending injury will hit in training before he gets to put a shirt on after signing a 5 year deal for huge wages and a massive transfer fee.
His stats are ok but he's been playing in Holland. Also he takes penalties so not all his goals are from open play. It would be a risk.

Is Parrott’s all-round game decent or do people just emotionally want him after what he’s done for Ireland? His record in England isn’t great and the Dutch league just isn’t a serious place - some random team won 8-2 the other week ffs!

I am a fan but I think he is a bit off being a Premier League striker.

He has great around the box and has good movement a bit like a Shane Long type.

I'd have him over Beto

Parrott might be worth a go if it was €25m. I would not go higher. I assume he'll want to return to England and prove himself. It might be right place right time with us. He should consider his next move very carefully though, as we should ours.

That alone might be a huge improvement from what we have at the moment. Maybe a swap for Beto could work, Beto would play regular and we can give Parrot a run of games. If he gets off to a good start and scores a few he`d be a huge improvement and would give Barry time to step up over the rest of the season.

I shouted parrott in the summer, probably twice the cost now. Had a decent season last year and going well this year. Admittedly I dont have encyclopaedic knoledge of striker options globally, but I dont see many more obvious shouts we can afford and who would come

I’d worry about signing a lad based on international appearances but his record in the Netherlands seems pretty decent , near enough 1:2

Not sure on Troy myself, we have a project already with Barry and a striker whose done well in another league but hit and miss in this one.

For me a Toney or that profile makes much more sense for where we are and what we need.

Sure he’d be worth a look if we were in different circumstances up front, but we need as close to a sure thing in the PL as we can find up front.

Not dissing Troy but he’s just not the profile we need right now.

A sure thing in the PL is hard to come by, Even the lovable Reds signed a sure thing for over 100 Million and he hasnt scored for them yet. Taking a 25 million punt on parrott would be worth doing.
