It's an interesting debate. Do we condemn people for previous sins or do we welcome them back into society if they've seen the errors of their ways? There's no right or wrong answer and it's the kind of topic you'll be firmly entrenched in one camp or the other. Your view is totally understandable. But it's still open for debate from a societal point of view which is why I'm making my point of view (and no this doesn't mean I condone what he did but whether he should be judged on past mistakes or now if he's a better man)For lots of jobs you have a DBS done or should we just scrap that because their crime was in the past? And whilst football is different in that it’s not direct facing with vulnerable people for example, they still have roles working with children and doing publicity and then being idolised by children. There’s a message it sends.
As I’ve said previously, having charges dropped doesn’t equal being found innocent and in my view, I wouldn’t want the club to even consider him.
