January Transfer Window 2026

….that suggests he’s had nothing to do with any signing so far, maybe with the exception of Rohl.

We need a re-think if you’re suggesting Moyes is not involved in transfer business. Very interesting.
Did you not hear his press conference last week? When he said he has the final say on players.

It was a tongue in cheek post but Moyse has always looked at how not to concede first and foremost. The first thing he'll look at is how well can a RB defend and not how good is he overlapping. Given that dead ball situations have become more and more important I'd imagine height and heading ability is also an important factor for Moyes. How much is Moyes involved in transfers? On past form Barry certainly wouldn't be a typical Moyse CF and Dibling and Aznou are not being given many minutes, which makes you wonder if they weren't his picks or are they just badly underperforming in training?
You’re bang on mate a good source has said Moyes is looking for a RB of similar profile to O’Brien 😂

It’s the January transfer window not the January sales
Maybe the money wasn’t there as Moyes said
They only want to buy the required standard not someone that will do till the summer
its not all about the money
dont think we shd be splashing 40m on a fullback like kerkez either
but bournemouth have already gotten in truffert and toth as replacements all for much less than that
moyes needs to take chances

Believe that and you will believe anything, Fulham wanted 15mil for Wilson and Everton wouldn’t go anywhere near that figure. Being from north wales, he was interested in coming back to the north west
Nailed on for Wrexham if they come up. He’ll get 500k euros a week to play in the EPL and be the owners new poster boy.

Yeah because baines and coleman were renowned for their defensive acumen weren't they?

Neither of them had ever blocked a cross in their lives and am fairly sure Coleman is blind in his left eye. The amount of times he left players run off his left and score.

Didnt matter though because they were both amazing at going forward and thats what they were in the team for

….i’d be sure that was the case but @davids suggests Moyes can only buy players to defend corners.
Not "only" but I think it's high on the list of attributes he looks for. In saying that given the number of goals in the Prem that comes from corners it's not a bad thing but tall fullbacks who can defend well, are comfortable on the ball, have the pace to overlap and put in a decent cross aren't easy to find in our price range especially while we don't have European football.

I think Moyes has change his outlook on the game in the years since they were both signed. There's a quote online somewhere that he actually says he sees O'Brien's height playing at RB as a plus.
