January Transfer Window 2026

Apparently Jhon Duran who we were linked with in the Jan transfer window is opting for a loan with Zenit St Petersburg in the Russian league 😂, so there has to be something underlyingly problematic deterring more prominent teams from signing him ,such as a combative disposition or that he got in a fist fight with a ball boy or murdered an animal mascot while in Turkey

I wonder if it's that or just that he isn't actually that good. Obviously he looked like a real prospect at Villa shortly before he left but it's possible that isn't reflective of his real level. I don't know either way obviously, just seems a bit odd. If he's properly top drawer a combative disposition won't put clubs off to the point they won't even take him on loan or whatever, and there are plenty of players knocking about with some pretty serious baggage so it would seem unlikely to be that too. I wonder if teams just don't think he's actually worth the fees and wages involved.

6 clubs already at 22 years old

Just reading we missed out on RB Sacha Boey (almost feels like a Chico stunt this) as he rejected us as did Harry Wilson in this window.
I want players who want to come and play for one of the premier leagues founders, has a state of the art new stadium and one of the best training grounds in Europe, etc etc. I don’t want anyone who rejects us, let them go elsewhere and look back in the future and regret it.

Moyes is famous for his safety first attitude so his first thought when looking at any potential RB would be can he defend corners as well as O'Brien.

….that suggests he’s had nothing to do with any signing so far, maybe with the exception of Rohl.

We need a re-think if you’re suggesting Moyes is not involved in transfer business. Very interesting.

If that true, it proves Barry and Dibling definitely had nothing to do with Moyes.
Of course Dibling did and probably Barry too. Moyes said himself he makes the final decision. Dibling was not first choice but Moyes was behind it 100% once we went down the list of targets . As with Barry I think Moyes wanted a more experienced striker and Barry to play 2nd fiddle, but again that didnt happen. Who knows why, couldn’t sell Beto? Players not available? Or not enough money left in the pot?

It was a tongue in cheek post but Moyse has always looked at how not to concede first and foremost. The first thing he'll look at is how well can a RB defend and not how good is he overlapping. Given that dead ball situations have become more and more important I'd imagine height and heading ability is also an important factor for Moyes. How much is Moyes involved in transfers? On past form Barry certainly wouldn't be a typical Moyse CF and Dibling and Aznou are not being given many minutes, which makes you wonder if they weren't his picks or are they just badly underperforming in training?
