Yeah that's my point really. Gets to a point where if you really can't find anyone good enough for that kind of price, you need to accept that you will have to be a bit more ambitious.

No point in wasting loads of time scouting and sounding out players who are just going to be deemed not good enough by the manager. Imo we should have just been willing to put up a bit more money to get a proper fullback through the door.
