January Transfer Window 2026

So predictable the soundbites from our club, whichever the hierarchy is.
Nothing has changed has it.

Sound like a bunch of bellends the crap they come out with, while we’re seeing clubs sign players for fun in this “difficult” window.

What the feck have they done since summer finished, how are we still looking/trying/searching now instead of having the hit list of targets good to go?

Shambles.

It's Moyes Nath he's rejecting a lot of the recommendations by the recruitment team if rumours are true

Is it that difficult to find a decent right back who is possibly available given all the facilities the recruitment/scouting departments have?
The argument will be that they don't want to buy anyone now who is overpriced, or that they wouldn't want to buy in the summer - that's fair I think, there will be a load of right backs who we'd be prepared to sign if the deal was right and they want to come here.

The deal may get more attractive the closer to the window's end we get, but that's also the time that the loan market will get more active as players try to get themselves into a position where they get minutes before the World Cup - Nathan Patterson, I would imagine, would be desperate to get out this month for that reason and there will be plenty more in the same boat.

I agree he's a fine player but they've got Dias, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol, Khusanov not to mention the likes of Akanji out on loan and the highly rated youngster Alleyne
Seems like a lot of competition, but Stones might never play for them again, Ake looks like his time there’s coming to an end too and Khusanov is very raw. He could become part of the first choice centre back partnership v quickly.

Seriously, Kinell.

Not sure what’s more depressing, the owners are trusting this fella with more money or we’re letting him torpedo any potential deals, after the way he’s handled the summer signings.

Yeah I'm not saying they are long term future players for them but most clubs have to sell their players first before bringing in new players whilst they just do as they please and throw the middle finger up at the powers that be

The problem i have is failing to fix these kind of problems eventually has a detrimental effect on the team. It’s alright for them to have this “wait till the summer “ attitude but we potentially face the same issues as last summer in failing to attract players.

You have to consider who is willing to sell and if the players are willing to sign of course but imo this is a wasted opportunity given how open the league is from the top four down and if we could add one or two to really improve us then we could at least make Europa conference and build on that for next season.
