January Transfer Window 2026

That's actually quite an encouraging article. Obviously, it may not have much of an impact of course, but at least the club have acknowledged an issue and acted.
It is, but it will be redundant if that specialist works with Moyes; a man afraid to make substitutions, afraid to blood younger players and who flogs all his faves no matter what.

He might be taller than Baines but he looks like a strong breeze would knock him over. Moyes said himself it’s his physicality that has stopped him playing.
We could just set up in a way which made it unlikely the player would be up against constant duel. We had a full left combination of Baines and Pienaar, I weight more than both together 🤣

At the same age, who knows, and it’s not relevant!

Aznou isn’t playing left back because he lacks the physicality for the Prem. That’s literally from the manager picking the team btw.
As much as i respect moyes he has his opinions that are outdated at times. He has picked players with less physicallity than aznou. Are you telling me 5'5 lanzini at west ham is stronger? Or are you telling me moyes needs a miracle to play youngsters instead of more "proven" players sometimes.

I’m telling you Lanzini didn’t play left back.

Baines was stronger than Aznou is now.

Baines was always incredibly slight. This thing Moyes has in his head of only wanting big grocks with Premier League experience is something he’s developed in his later years and I don’t know why. It’s like he thinks that the natural course of things as you get older is to become more cautious and defensive. He used to sign the likes of Pienaar, Arteta, Johnson, Baines, and make players like Osman a key part of his teams, all players who weren’t physical at all. Don’t know why he seems to think he has to naturally morph into Allardyce and Pulis just because he’s over 60.

I've said this lots of times already, but if you'd seen him getting bullied in the U21s, you would have to have taken leave of your senses to have him playing full back in our first team.

I don't think Moyes did a good enough job of emphasising just how far off it he looked.

Now he may well have been in the gym solid for the last couple of months etc, but you could maybe criticise Moyes for not managing to get him more minutes on the wing before now, I'd find it an insane argument to suggest that we should have been playing him in our defence before now.
