January Transfer Window 2026

I think he would do ok, has played International football. He is decent though, would be an interesting signing that one.

For those of us who have never heard of him, let alone seen him play, can he play right back?

He's basically older less hyped Hayden Hackney. Midfield conductor, all play on the ball goes through him, defensively not much to write home about.

Very different profile to anything we have, so if the club think we want a cheap player who is that archetype, then I can see it. Might be very easy to play past in the prem though.

Dream Window:

Brennan Johnson
Conor Gallagher ( loan)
A right back ( eg Juanlu )
An Ake style LCB / Left back but younger

For me (assuming we already have 33m for Johnson

Out
McNeil 15-20m (makeweight in Williams deal?)
Patto 10m
Beto 15m

Ins
Williams 25m
Gallagher (loan with option to buy 25m)
Striker 25m ( no idea who though )
Attacking LB 20-25m ( someone in the ilk of Robinson )

That would make us a very good squad with JOB being able to play CB and cover RB

Midfield would be the choice of KDH, garner and Gallagher ( all high energy, good with the ball, combative and each have the ability to score goals

Go and sign two fullbacks, and bring in a forward on loan.

The players are out there, and so is Europe if we have the depth.

This is a golden opportunity and I hope TFG and the transfer committee see that.

Dreamland I know but with 3-4 signings
RB
LB
CM
ST

Either on loan for purchased etc … we would have a very good chance to push on this year … also worth noting that CL may potentially be 5th place too…

Dream stiff I know but we are 4 points of 4th now and are playing with strikers that have scored 3 goals all season and we are the second lowest corers in the league …

There is an opportunity here and they don’t show themselves to often so we should go for it

Unless City are prepared to drop the price down to £15-20m the deal just doesn't make any kind of financial sense, its just a huge package for a 30 year old and a lot would need too change to make it viable imo.

I have a feeling they will drop their price … they don’t actually NEED money … they have more money than GOD … they need his wages off the books and to make a PSR/FFP profit … he signed for 100m 4 years ago on a 5 year contract?

Give him a book value of 20m if I’m correct ?

At 20m he’s deffo worth signing as long as he takes a pay cut down to 100-130k a week

This is the way. January is always tough. One one hand I want us to really push for it this season with the league so wide open, but on the other hand it’s a fool’s errand to expect big purchases.

If there’s a right back available, it has to be the priority. If not find the best loan option. Get an experienced striker in, ideally on loan to see how things play out with Barry, but we shouldn’t be opposed to another big outlay if the right player and funds are available. The one I’d add as a priority is loaning out Aznou and getting a left back, ideally on loan.

January is tough is BS imo … not having a go at you … I just think our managers and chairman said it as an excuse for being crap …

It’s a World Cup year … players will want game time to try and force into squads …. Players are also available with 6 months left that will be leaving for free and clubs will want to cash in …

There will be plenty of players that are gettable …. But I highly doubt we are organised and have people ready to approach.

I mean look at Semenyo …. He has a release clause … he can’t be the only player in the world to have one can he? His agent can’t be the only agent in the world that has thought to insert one into the contact of a client … and even if he is … call him and find out who else he represents and see if anyone suits

Can’t see him walking away from £8m to join us tbh
